Gary Duff of Comber Rifle Club (CRC) won the Leinster Indoor Open with a combined score of 697.5. In second place was Ray Kane of the Defence Forces Shooting Team (DFST) with a score of 689.6. Third place was hotly contested by Sean Baldwin (DFST), Sam Kelly of Dungannon Rifle and Pistol Club (DRPC) and Conor McDermottroe of Dublin University Rifle Club (DURC). Sam Kelly (who started the final in fourth place) eventually took third on his second last shot and held it to the end.
Thanks to a tremendous turnout by DURC; who made up almost half the field, there was a very strong attendance and for the third match in succession, the bar was raised for qualification for the final; with 584 being the minimum required.
The 3x20 event was won by Ray Kane of the Defence Forces Shooting Team with a score of 564.
The next match in Rathdrum is the National Standard and National 25m Pistol event to be held on Sunday 14th November, followed by the DURC Indoor Open on Sunday 21st November. Booking is now open on the NTSA website for the pistol championships and on this website for the DURC Indoor Open. There is an extra detail on the evening of Thursday 18th November for the DURC Indoor Open.
