Conor McDermottroe of Dublin Universitty Rifle Club (DURC) won the DURC Open held in Rathdrum on 21st November with a combined score of 694.9. In second place was Ray Kane of the Defence Forces Shooting Team (DFST) with a score of 692.8, closely followed by Gary Duff of Comber Rifle Club (CRC) with a score of 692.7.
This was the highest scoring match ever held in Rathdrum, with four finalists achieving a score of 590 or greater and, had Terry Wearen been present for the final; a highest ever qualifying score of 585. Conor's achievement was made even more impressive by the fact that it was shot using his new Bleiker rifle which was only assembled for the first time, two hours before his detail.
